It’s easy to order documents for an uncontested divorce from the Internet. The problem with ordering forms from the Internet, however, as well as the problem with Internet divorce document preparation services, is a high incidence of rejection. You pay your $199 or your $299; then you and your spouse sign and file the documents. Then, a few weeks later, you get a response from the court telling you that you’ve done something wrong. Typically, you won’t hear exactly what you’ve done wrong, just that your divorce has been rejected, and you need to fix it.

So when the court rejects your papers, you call them to ask what you’ve done wrong. You’ll get a curt reply that they cannot answer legal questions, and they’ll tell you to hire a lawyer to help you fix the documents

In most cases, our lawyers at Virginia Family Law Center, P.C. can make all the necessary changes to make the documents acceptable to the court.

If the court has rejected your documents for an uncontested divorce and you’re wondering what’s wrong, we will be glad to help you. We typically charge about as much as it would have cost you to do an uncontested divorce with us (approximately $599), but we’ll  properly  prepare all of your papers to be acceptable to the court, and answer any questions that you may have about the process.
